Worthington has a Charter form of government with a Council-Administrator plan. Citizens elect the City Council, which consists of two Council members from each of the city’s two wards, a Council member At-Large and a Mayor. The Council also elects a Mayor Pro Tem to preside in the Mayors absence. The Mayor is a member of the City Council and ceremonial leader of the city. Council members serve staggered, four-year terms. The City Council hires the City Administrator who oversees the city’s day-to-day operations.

The Worthington City Council meets on the second and fourth Mondays of every month at 7:00 P.M. in City Hall Council Chambers, 303 Ninth Street. Please call (507) 372-8600 if you have an item or issue you have interest in being placed on the agenda for City Council discussion.
