This portion of the park was donated by industrialist E.O. Olson and his wife Bella G. Olson in 1943, 1944, and 1945.
Comments:

Playground equipment new in 1994-1995.
Two floating docks new in 2001/extended in 2008 approximately 150 feet west of Beach Nook/sand beach to serve boat parking.
Shoreline rip-rap in 2001-2002.
Natural gas and electric outlets in buildings.
Bridge across Whiskey Ditch.
Privately operated concession operation (Beach Nook) opened in 2006.
Renovated restrooms - handicap accessible 2007.
Renovated/expanded concession area to provide for the selling of prepared food items 2007.
Expanded concrete patio area, sand beach area, marginal grass areas, relocated bike rack 2008.
Constructed recreation trail 2006.
Installed security lighting of recreation trail and sidewalk 2008.
Installed permanent/in place trash cans rubber coated paint 2008.
10 foot bike rack to serve beach users.
